If you want to stay in Rome in relative walking distance from the main sights, with breakfasts, but on a limited budget – pay attention to this inexpensive three-star hotel, where we stayed for the May holidays – Center 3 Rome 3*.
The distance to the Colosseum will seem a bit long for those who don’t like walking as much as my wife and I do, but we easily walked to it, the Roman Forum, and other, farther sights. Termini station is nearby, so it’s easy to get to the hotel from the Leonardo da Vinci airport by a special train which connects the two transport hubs, the Leonardo Express. The Manzoni Metro Station and Porta Maggiore Tram Station are also very close to the hotel. There is a supermarket nearby, as well as many restaurants in the area.
You can often hear reviews about the Termini station area as dangerous, but for me it seemed quite safe, though a bit dirty, especially Via Giovanni Giolitti, the street that leads from the hotel to the station.
As they say, it used to be noisy from the club, the entrance of which can be seen nearby, but now it is closed.
That’s the room we got:
The bathroom is very small:
We were lucky – the room overlooking the courtyard was on the first floor and had a terrace:
But as you can see, there was no luck with the weather.
The hotel staff made a very good impression – polite and friendly.
The room is cleaned once every two days.
The room has a TV, hair dryer, refrigerator, and free Wi-Fi, so this time I only used my Drimsim sim card outside the hotel.
For breakfast there is a choice of different kinds of buns and pastries, cereal, toast, jam, butter, coffee, tea, milk, juices.
I recommend this hotel, especially if you want to save money and still stay close to the center.
